Fern & Learn, a program hosted by the Communications Department, is a comprehensive introductory community civics program that invites citizens to engage closely with their local government.

This free program lets you see how Ferndale’s government works, up close and in person. Each week, different departments will host hands-on sessions with activities, tours, games, and presentations.

The program is back for its fourth year! Join us every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., beginning April 9 and continuing through June 18, 2026. While most gatherings happen in the City Hall Council Chambers, you’ll also get to explore the unique spaces of the Police, Fire, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation departments. Plus, dinner is provided at every session.
